Nyimba Town Council has been ranked in the second position at this year’s Provincial Agriculture and Commercial Show which was held in Chipata from 10th to 12th July, 2025.

Nyimba Town Council was one of the 15 districts in Eastern Province that participated in this year’s Provincial Show under the theme, “Adapting to Climate Change.”

The Local Authority show cased to the participants on how it is adapting to climate change by encouraging farmers to embrace planting crops that are resilient to drought such as Sorghum among others.

Nyimba Town Council in 2023 scooped the first position at the Provincial Agriculture and Commercial Show, while in 2024, the Local Authority could not participate in the Agriculture and Commercial because the district was among other districts that were heavily affected by the drought.

The Local Authority remains committed to return its first position in the 2026 Agricultural and Commercial Show.
